Speech & Language Therapist / Occupational Therapist – Autism Assessor (Permanent)


Location:
Preference for face-to-face assessments in Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds, but with flexibility for other locations nationwide

Contract: Permanent, full-time or part-time

Salary: Up to £54,000 per annum, depending on experience

Start Date: ASAP

Your role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll:

Deliver face-to-face ADOS assessments as part of comprehensive Autism or combined Autism & ADHD pathways

Collaborate closely with Clinical Psychologists and other MDT members contributing to diagnostic formulations

Provide clear, accurate input for high-quality clinical reports

Engage compassionately with individuals and families within a neuro-affirming framework

About you

HCPC-registered Speech & Language Therapist or Occupational Therapist

At least 3 years’ post-qualification clinical experience

At least 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience in neurodevelopmental work

Formal ADOS training and recent clinical experience delivering ADOS assessments

Skilled in contributing to MDT diagnostic assessments and reports

Compassionate, professional and collaborative in approach

Desirable

NHS and/or independent diagnostic service experience

Confident assessing across wide age ranges

Familiarity with Autism assessment pathways
