Role: Speech & Language Therapist – Paediatrics (Complex Needs)
Location: On-site in Hackney, London
Hours: Full-time or Part-time (term-time only considered)
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience (Band 6 or 7 level)

Your role

You’ll work directly with children and young people aged 2–19 with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties, many with complex needs, in a dedicated school setting. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will:

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions informed by the Balance Model
  • Assess speech, language and communication needs
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy plans
  • Deliver direct therapy and class-based interventions
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and parents/carers
  • Provide training and support to school staff and families
  • Participate in joint MDT sessions and contribute to goal setting and reviews

 

About you

  • HCPC-registered Speech & Language Therapist
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Experience working with children or young people with complex communication needs
  • Strong assessment and therapy planning skills
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to delivering child-centred, functional interventions
