Speech and Language Therapist – Trauma-Informed Education Setting

Salary: Up to £44,000 (dependent on experience)

We are supporting a specialist education provider to recruit a Speech and Language Therapist to join their dedicated clinical team, working across two school sites in Somerset. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a trauma-informed setting, supporting young people with complex special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including social, emotional and developmental needs.
You will work as part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team, providing assessment, intervention and consultation as part of a broader therapeutic model.
Role Overview
- Deliver direct and indirect speech and language therapy to children with complex needs
- Complete individualised assessments using appropriate tools for neurodiverse and developmentally traumatised children
- Contribute to EHCPs and integrated support plans through MDT collaboration
- Provide consultation, training and modelling to education and care teams
- Support the school’s trauma-informed, attachment-aware practice
- Travel between sites is required – full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle essential
Key Requirements
- HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist
- Post-qualification experience working in education or paediatric settings, ideally with children with SEND
- Skilled in using a range of assessment tools and delivering evidence-based interventions
- Interest or experience in attachment and developmental trauma
- Confident communicator and team player, committed to improving outcomes for young people
