About the Opportunity

Livingwell Recruitment is partnering with a long-established independent psychiatric hospital in Berkshire that has delivered high-quality mental health care for nearly 50 years. The service is entering an exciting phase of development with a new, ambitious leadership team and a strong therapeutic model supported by 23 in-patient beds and a thriving outpatient pathway.

The hospital is now seeking a General Adult Psychiatrist who is passionate about delivering exceptional care and keen to help shape the future direction of a modern, patient-centred service.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality psychiatric care to in-patients including assessments, reviews, prescribing and treatment planning
• Lead compassionate and efficient admission and discharge processes
• Run outpatient clinics within a growing service
• Participate in the on-call rota with flexible arrangements available
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated, holistic care
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement and innovation across the hospital

What We’re Looking For

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• MRCPsych or equivalent
• Eligibility to prescribe controlled drugs in private practice (or willingness to obtain)
• Section 12 approval (or willingness to work toward this)
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, patient-centred approach
• Commitment to high standards of care and continuous improvement
