Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and knowledgeable ADHD Assessors and Prescribers to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments for individuals suspected of having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and, for qualified candidates, providing prescribing services to support treatment and medication management. You will collaborate with clients, families, and educational professionals to gather relevant information, deliver accurate diagnoses, and make insightful recommendations. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in educating stakeholders about ADHD and ensuring individuals receive the support they need to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments for clients suspected of having ADHD, utilising standardised diagnostic tools and interviews.
- Gather information from multiple sources, including parents, teachers, and other relevant professionals.
- Analyse assessment results to formulate accurate diagnoses and actionable recommendations.
- Provide clear and concise feedback to clients and their families regarding assessment outcomes.
- Educate clients, families, and educational staff about ADHD, including its symptoms, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, ensuring confidentiality in line with data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop tailored intervention plans for clients.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices related to ADHD assessment, management, and treatment options.
- For qualified prescribers, offer medication reviews and treatment plans as part of the assessment process.
Skills
- Strong understanding of ADHD and its impact on individuals across various age groups.
- Proficiency in ADHD assessment tools and interpreting psychological data.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner.
- Ability to educate clients and stakeholders effectively about ADHD-related issues.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping.
- Empathetic approach towards clients, demonstrating patience and understanding throughout the assessment process.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- For prescriber roles: qualification and experience in prescribing ADHD medications, including managing titration and ongoing reviews.
Qualifications
For Prescribers:
- Professional qualifications relevant to the role, such as NMP Nurse, ADHD Nurse, or Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP).
- NMC registration
- V300 Independent Prescribing Qualification.
- Post-registration experience and/or evidence of formal courses and training at a postgraduate diploma level.
- Proven ability to prescribe and titrate ADHD medications effectively and safely.
For ADHD Assessors:
- Formal ADHD assessment training (e.g., DIVA, ACE, or similar).
- Practical experience in completing ADHD assessments, with the ability to make informed diagnostic conclusions independently.
- Strong background in conducting assessments for neurodevelopmental disorders, with a focus on accurate and thorough reporting.
- Must be a qualified professional in one of the following disciplines:
- Nurse Practitioner
- Clinical Psychologist
- Neurodevelopmental Practitioner
- Speech and Language Therapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Social Worker
- NMC registration or HCPC Registration
